EDUCATION

The Oklahoma Bondsman Association is the provider of pre-license courses, taught by Bondsmen, Oklahoma Insurance Department personnel and the OBA legal counsel.  The required 16-hour course is designed to get you through the license process and provide a working knowledge of the bail industry.   Once licensed, the OBA also offers 8hrs of Continuing Education each year to its Members,  in order to achieve the 16 hours of CE credits required bi-anually by the State to renew their license.

TO REGISTER for PRE-LICENSE CLASSES:

• The course is 16 hours, as mandated by Title 59 of the Insurance Code.

• Registration fee: $1800 

Once you SUBMIT your registration – A $300 non-refundable deposit is required to complete your registration.  You can click here to pay by Credit/Debit Card—–>>> Oklahoma Bondsmen Association (usiopay.com)

If you are unable to pay your deposit at the time of Registration – PLEASE CALL 405-524-5920 to discuss arrangements.  Any unpaid deposits after 48hrs will result in Cancellation of Registration (unless there are other arrangements).  Payment may also be made by Personal Check, Cashiers Check, Money Order, or Cash.   The $300 Deposit does apply to the total Fee of $1800.  The remaining $1500 balance must be paid no later than the first day of class.  Please note, any payments made by personal check may require up to a 14 day hold on any education credits until funds have cleared. 

Lunch and Continental Breakfast is included; however, we do not accommodate special diets.

All classes must be registered for in advance.   Additional dates outside our normal viewing schedule can be arranged by appointment for EMERGENCY sessions.  There may be additional charges for those exceptions.   Membership Dues must be current to participate in CE Training Classes.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

• OBA Membership – $350  – Due September 1st
• If not paid by October 31st – Amount Due increases to $450 ($100 late fee.)
• If not paid by December 31st – Membership privileges will be suspended.
• Suspended members are not eligible to attend Continuing Education classes until dues are paid

OBA Grandfather bondsmen are exempt from continuing education, but are encouraged and welcome to attend.  The dues for our Grandfathered bondsmen is reduced to $200 and provides full membership benefits.

Membership funds are used to support the Oklahoma Bondsman Associations task of protecting and further the bail industry.  There are many benefits from your OBA Membership:

• FREE Accidental death and dismemberment insurance policy.
• A legal defense fund financed by dues.
• A full-time lobbyist to further the industry with legislators.

Dues must be hand-delivered or postmarked on or before December 31st.
