POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE

BONDSMAN POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (BPAC)

The Oklahoma Bondsman Association organized the Bondsman Political Action Committee (BPAC) in January of 2005. This was an important step toward our increased presence and success at the State Capitol. The BPAC can only accept personal contributions (no corporate checks).

Political Action Committees or PACs, are a way of contributing to the campaigns of elected officials, without having to give directly to the candidate. By giving to our association’s PAC, you are helping to advance the profession through the legislative process. The Oklahoma Legislature controls the bail bond profession through statutes, and gives the Department of Insurance the authority to regulate our day to day activities.

The OBA Board controls the PAC, and authorizes all checks which are written. The Board works closely with our lobbyist to maximize the impact of our contributions. The BPAC has given to the campaigns of representatives, senators, insurance commissioners and governors.

BPAC is non-partisan, giving to both Republicans and Democrats, typically in a similar ratio as the current legislative composition. BPAC assists those who help the bondsman industry, and as such much attention is paid to important committee chairs and authors of OBA’s request legislation.

Top reasons to give to the BPAC:

  • If you’ve ever received a paycheck for being a bondsman.
  • If you believe that you have a profession, not just a job.
  • If you support the OBA Board in achieving their legislative priorities.
  • If you want to send the message that our profession matters.
  • If you have never given and think it’s important to maintain a presence at the State Capitol.
  • If you want to make a difference in your profession.

If you would like to give to the BPAC, please send a personal check (no corporate checks) made out to “BPAC” and mail to:
